We are seeking to hire a Construction Inspector for a PennDOT bridge washing project in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This project will require the inspector to work night shift including weekends as well as overtime. 

Requirements:

• Must qualify under one of the following:
  • Two (2) years transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience
  • Four (4) years highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience
  • Possess a Transportation Technology Construction Inspection certification received through an accredited Technology program approved by the Department
  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field ​​​​​​​
  • One year experience as a PennDOT Technical Assistant (TA-2) or higher 

• Access and ability to operate a personal computer utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel, the internet, and email
• Valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Authorized to work in the United States, sponsorship not available

Physical Requirements:

• Physical activity includes: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, and standing for sustained periods of time
• Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently
• Visual acuity requirements include color and depth perception, and field of vision
